At Milla’s Meadows, the mission is simple but incredibly meaningful: to provide children with special needs the opportunity to thrive, connect, and grow in a supportive, inclusive environment. Whether it's through therapeutic activities, educational workshops, or social events, Milla’s Meadows strives to create experiences that empower children and foster a sense of community and belonging. This holiday season, they are excited to offer some fantastic opportunities for both children and their families to come together, learn new skills, and celebrate the joys of the season.
We’re inviting all of our friends from the Balkan Bakery community to join us for two special events designed specifically for children with special needs and their families. These upcoming events provide a chance for children to build social skills, engage in fun activities, and experience the magic of the holidays in a warm and welcoming environment.
November 22: Social Skills Building Workshop
As the holiday season approaches, Milla’s Meadows kicks off a series of workshops aimed at helping children develop important social skills that will benefit them both in and out of school. The Social Skills Building Workshop is designed to help children with special needs learn how to communicate more effectively, engage with peers, and develop confidence in social settings. This one-hour session (from 5:30 to 6:30 PM) will be led by experienced professionals who specialize in working with children with developmental challenges.
At Milla’s Meadows, they understand that every child is unique, and the goal of this workshop is to create a safe, nurturing space where kids can practice social interactions in a controlled and supportive environment. Whether it’s making new friends, learning to take turns, or simply participating in group activities, the workshop will offer practical tools and strategies that children can use in everyday life.
December 6: Pictures with Santa Party
What better way to celebrate the holiday season than by creating memories with a special visit from Santa Claus? On December 6, Milla’s Meadows will host their Pictures with Santa Party, offering children with special needs the opportunity to meet Santa in a comfortable, no-pressure setting. This event will run from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at Highlands Elementary School Gym in La Grange, IL.
Families will have the chance to enjoy some holiday cheer, take photos with Santa, and participate in fun, festive activities. This event is all about making holiday traditions accessible for every child. For children with special needs, navigating crowded and chaotic holiday events can often feel overwhelming, but Milla’s Meadows ensures that this experience will be calm, inclusive, and full of joy. The goal is to create positive memories and bring families together in a way that celebrates the spirit of the season while accommodating the unique needs of each child.

Both of these events will take place at Highlands Elementary School Gym located at 5860 Lauren Ave, La Grange, IL 60525, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Milla’s Meadows is committed to providing a space where children can grow, play, and learn without feeling excluded or judged. By partnering with local organizations and bringing these workshops to the community, they are working to create a more inclusive world for children with special needs.
