    They are available on Saturdays and Sundays.

    No, we exclusively use vegetable shortening and ground beef in our burek. Our kitchen does not incorporate any pork products.
  • What sets apart Balkan sauce from Balkan smoothie?
    Our Balkan sauce is a thicker rendition of kefir, requiring a spoon for consumption, while our Balkan smoothie is a drinkable form of kefir. Both are freshly prepared from scratch daily at our store.
  • What ingredients are used in your lemonade?
    Our lemonade is freshly juiced daily, comprising water, lemon juice, and sugar. We avoid using any additives or powders in its preparation.
  • Do you have any whole cakes available today?
    We have small mini cakes available in most of the flavors we sell by piece. Mini cakes come in small (cuts 4 pieces), medium (cuts 6 pieces) and large (cuts 10 pieces). The flavors that they are available in are: Kinder Moskva Orah Euro Blok Reforma Plazma Raffaello If you are looking for a half sheet or quarter sheet cake that cuts 20-45 pieces, they need to be ordered a week in advance.

    Unfortunately, no. Our liquor license restricts on-site consumption. However, you're welcome to purchase alcohol for off-premises consumption.

    We provide the convenience of both dine-in and takeout options. Enjoy your meal indoors, on our outdoor patio, or opt to take your food items to go—whatever fits your preference for the day.
  • How do I get to Balkan Bakery?
    The closest intersection to Balkan Bakery is La Grange Road and 47th Street. To get there, you can take La Grange Road and head south until you reach the bakery, located on the left-hand side.
  • What is the lead time for placing a catering order?
    A week in advance is required. Please call the store to place your catering order at (708) 588-1899.

    It's simple! We're here to cater to your needs. Just let us know what you're looking for, and we'll do our best to make it available to you.
  • Can you ship out of state?
    National shipping is available on all small cookies during the holiday season only (October-February). Overnight shipping is required and there is a 4 LB minimum. Tracking number is provided by FedEx. We can also ship our dry goods year-round with ground shipping anywhere in the U.S.
  • Are returns accepted?
    Returns are only accepted for non-food items that remain unopened or unused and were purchased within a 7-day period from the date of return.
